Asbestos found on the St Luke's Hospital site

October 15, 2015 5:38 PM

Asbestos has been found on land next to St Luke's Hospital that has been earmarked for the town's new hospital.

Liberal Democrat councillor Phil Knowles told the Leicester Mercury:

"Asbestos was found in more than half of the test pits and the mineral in one pit is to be treated as hazardous.

"I hope that if further asbestos is found during construction that it will not affect the build programme."
