Venue chosen for vital Market Harborough health meeting

11.17.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 20th Apr 2010

The Health Trust has thanked Lib Dem Councillor Phil Knowles for his help in finding a venue for the Leicestershire County and Rutland Primary Care Trust board meeting on 13 May. The Market Harborough Methodist Church has been booked because a lot of people are likely to attend the meeting to hear about future plans for hospitals and healthcare in the town. The meeting will start at 2.00 p.m.

Phil says: "TheTrust has told me that the important business - the Market Harborough Business Case - will be discussed early in the meeting so that people don't have to sit through too much before it is debated and presented. The Business Case will be published on the Trust website on 7 May, but I have been told that some copies will be available at the meeting. The start time is yet to be confirmed, but we hope it will be packed.

"The people have waited so long and campaigned so hard for the much needed hospital we just have to hope that their contributions to the consultations and meetings have been listened to and that the community is not disappointed.

"A 21st century Harborough needs and deserves a 21st century facility."
