Authorities have confirmed that Kettering Road, Little Bowden, is to be subjected to comprehensive traffic checks after concerns were raised about the speed of traffic.
Initial checks undertaken as a result of calls for investigations by Lib Dems local chairman Phil Knowles and county councillor Dr Sarah Hill appear to have raised major concerns. These have resulted in the agreement to study the matter in greater detail.
Sarah Hill says: "Residents who contacted us highlighted the problems of vehicles leaving the bypass and continuing down Kettering Road at what appear to be unreduced speeds even though they have entered a residential area. We felt it needed detailed investigation and are delighted that the authorities have agreed to undertake these checks''.
Phil Knowles adds: "We suggested there is a need to raise driver awareness with flashing warning signs that immediately warn the driver of the speed at which they are travelling and the required speed limit for the area. Safety is the important consideration both for drivers and residents."
